While the birthday was a huge success, the week was crazy. And last night, just when I thought I would be able to blog about it all, Mini-Me comes in and says that she threw up in her sleep.
She sleeps on the top bunk. I managed to get the menagerie of animals off the bed and the bedding changed and got her tucked back in. I went to bed myself as it was now too late to blog.
Somewhere about 2 am. G got sick. He sleeps on the top bunk and managed to toss his cookies over the side, getting the bottom bunk in the process. I've determined that in times of sickness, bunk beds are evil.
I asked the professor if he thought it might be food poisoning. He said, with conviction, "No. Because I don't feel wel either."
THe laundry pile is now on Code Orange. Anytime the Professor stays home from work, it's a serious matter. Besides, we have to stay on alert for those bunk beds.

You might institute a top bunk emergency relief pail policy.
OOOOOOOH, I'm so sorry to hear of the tummy bug making its way through the rails of all your beds! UGH.
When our boys feel ill, I've issued an edict that they must sleep on the floor or on the futon in their room. I figure it's the least I can do for The Boss when he has to clean up. (He's happy to do the kids' clean up, as he'd have to do anyway since I'm a sympathy puker.)
ooohh you poor thing. I remeber (way back when!) when I had those issues. I too made the kids a nice spot on the floor, they had their own vomit cup, and I got smart enough to buy those bunk beds that come apart (so for the bunk bed price, I actually got 2 twin beds) which made life a lot easier!
Their is a nasty stomach virus going around.
Blessings!
crud. WE have bunk beds.
Yuck.
Ya know what would have been worse? Being on the bottom bunk when the projectile came from above. Ewwwwww.
I agree with Kathleen. I have had a sick child snuggling in bed with me only to hear that retching sound and well, you know...Yuck. More importantly, poor them. K had this a few nights ago- unfortunate it coincided with an especially aggravating night with my silly eyes. He was a bit delirious, so the next day I got to tease him about how he put the facecloth in the toilet "to make more room for you Mom", and how he kept insisting he needed to get out of the race because his feet hurt. Amusing, but a little too much drama for 2 a.m.
Oh no! Hope all are soon feeling better! :o)
(I'm baaack!)
ohhh, honey I hear ya. We are battling the bug over here to.
Oh no! I have had this same thing happen...YES they ARE evil!
Praying that you all feel better soon!
Yucky! I sure hope everyone is feeling better.
I have to agree that bunk beds are evil.. actually my youngest would be shouting Amen. When we had bunk beds he slept on the bottom bunk. He vividly remembers the night his older brother got sick and I woke him up saying.. "don't ask any questions.. don't look in a mirror.. just go take a shower. And he dutifully did. The older brother spent the rest of the night on the couch.
An interesting side note.. each time I tried to type bunk beds while writing this post.. I kept spelling bunk bads. Ironic, no?
I hope everyone is well now and I get to see you at BizBop.
