We interrupt our program....

To bring you the results of a very valuable and weighty experiment.

Nintendo DS Lites do not float.
I repeat:
They. Do. NOT. Float.
The "lite" is not referencing their weight.
Also, Having an absence of color (being white) does not make the lighter. (pun intended)

This news flash was brought to you by Mini-E. Where her current mission in life is to see what floats in the toilet. Her previous experience has been paper cups and socks.

Thank you.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled blogging.

Why she couldn't have picked on my mp3 player, I'll never know.
I have a replacement policy on it...at least for a year.

But what we need to know is does the Nintendo DS Lite still work after being submerged?! EEEK!

I will have to check your link. I don't even know what a Nintendo DS Lite is, just that it does not float.

Sometimes, if you remove the battery and allow the electronic to air dry for days and days, they will come back to life. Like, for example, if your husband washes his work jeans. With the phone still in the pocket! Miracles happen in electronics, too.

thanks for the info on the small electronic toy. I am several generations behind on electronics and they are long generations, like the ones before the flood (notice I did not attempt that predeluvian word since I'm not sure how to spell it and there is no dictionary.com button here either).

Rats, no, Bananaland is far to your east. I guess out west is bigger than I realized if you can drive that long and still be out west. We do not travel well, as in, not even a mile down the road to Wal*Mart, so you have my sympathies.

and about the quiescently thing. My Mum told me it meant things like popsicles that are frozen without being stirred as they freeze, the way ice cream is. A cool word that doesn't get enough use. :)

Oh gosh - how frustrating!!! Yes, but I will also let you know that DS' DO NOT fly well either - ours flew off the top of our van - not great for electronics!!!

Oh boy. I bet that made everyone super happy today! :) Maybe it will be okay...maybe?

That's exactly why she didn't pick your mp3 player- you have a replacement policy.

Oh, and I love your new profile pic with the plastic forks in the pocket. Too funny!!

I really enjoyed visiting and reading about the curriculum you're using! Sounds like we have somewhat similar philosophies in that we try things, but only keep what works for us.

How funny about the floating experiment...I'm assuming she is a very little one...starting those science projects early, I see! ;)

Blessings!
